Heather S. Harris
Thank you for your interest! My name is Heather Harris, and I am the administrator and co-founder of BeFIT Counseling. In 2009, my husband Thomas and I founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry focused on offering life-enriching seminars, community counseling, and crisis chaplain support in the aftermath of natural disasters that left only paths of devastation. We had the privilege of dedicating hundreds of hours to help others navigate some of life’s most difficult moments, a season of ministry that strongly reinforced the need for Biblical counseling and our commitment to serve.
In 2011, an unexpected injury changed our course and plans. The 501(c)(3) was forced to close, and the long pursuit of many surgeries to heal began. Throughout the years, I have navigated challenging seasons as a caregiver to family members, a supportive wife, a homeschooling mother, and too many other titles to list. Maybe you know what it is like to wear so many hats that self-care is the last thing on your mind. It’s incredibly hard to prioritize your well-being when you’re struggling to survive. But you must.
I know firsthand what it feels like to face exhaustion, uncertainty, anxiety, and hopelessness, questioning why, yet in spite of it all, to keep pressing on. I also know the return of hope that comes when God meets us in our weakness and helps us rise again, one step at a time. The determination to take one more step, along with God’s abundant strength, led me to complete over sixty races in seven years, including six full marathons.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” —2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NIV)
BeFIT Counseling, Faith-Integrated Therapy (FIT), offers an approach that brings together biblical truth and professional care. If you are ready to take the next step toward healing, we are here to walk that journey with you. Let’s begin together, conquering each mile one step at a time.
Notice: Although Heather is not taking on new clients at this time, if you prefer a female counselor, please send us a request, and we will do our best to accommodate or provide a referral. We are actively recruiting churches and counselors who are looking for an online platform to expand their ministry or business. If that is you, please contact us!
